if you go over on saturated fat will you gain weight?

xx_alone_i_break_xx asked:

like, lets say you need 1500 calories a day and 12 grams of saturated fat, if you only consume 1200 calories, but you went over one on saturated fat, would that cause you to gain weight? i’m not on a diet, i am just curious. i’m actually trying to gain weight.

Lose weight now – Stay slim forever

Your body can only use so much fat – which is a little – once it has all it needs, it stores it.

If you are eating less calories than your body needs, though, it will end up burning the fat for energy.

So… you can actually even it out and not gain weight. Although it’s worth noting that saturated and trans fats are very bad for your heart!
