Would 0.5g to 1g of trans fat in my diet affect my athletic condition or cardio?

cLicK asked:

I know its bad, but sometimes i eat junk food and it will have trans fat. I’m a runner and I would like to know if eating 0.5g to 1g of trans fat a day occasionally would make me run slower or feel more tired when i run.

And do saturated fats make me slower/feel out of shape too?
Would running also lower my bad cholesterol if it were high?

    Metabolism and Your Weight

No it wouldn’t. The fact that you are eating that little of trans fats is already a great milestone that a lot of others should do. You’re on the right track. As long as you keep working out for your sport teams, you will not notice a difference.

Saturated fats will not make you slower or feel out of shape if you continue to eat a very small amount as you have been. The only time you’ll see a negative effect is if you stop doing what you do to be in your athletic condition.

Running would help lower bad cholesterol, but a larger part of that has to do with the type of food you are eating. Focus on fruits, vegetables, and lean meat like chicken to help lower that number.

I hope this helps, best of luck to you!
